Bedrock, U.S.A.
05:05
|
|||
Bedrock USA, where the flowers grow and the mold decays
beneath a surface of superficial plants resting in summer sun
burning but they yearning for a place to have some fun
I don't know where to go, but the feeling just won't go away from me
Bedrock USA where the flowers grow but they don't know
how to make way for our coming bed by the shed
making flowers grow
picket fence kind of dense
but we like swimming in the pool
we can't go very far but we are really really cool
making flowers grow with our toes and reading by the pool

Under The Gun
04:18
|
|||
what fun, what fun
under the gun
run run run
such fun, such fun
under the gun
into the sun
burnin'
I weigh a ton
run run run
burnin'
under the gun
hot cross hairs
looking for someone
burnin'
into the sun
under the gun
run run run
you gotta
run run run
you gotta
have fun fun fun
under the gun
such fun fun fun
flying into the sun

One Less Beast
04:43
|
|||
many came on that day
they were legion but most were bare
like devils shouting across the square
upon an unsuspecting group
wanders by few and by name
a beast with big teeth
was calling my name
in the back of my mind they sleep
in my aching head they are again
in the kind of chariots they bring
of fire but not of land
a beast most fowl
a taste of fever sweet
they came for me on that day
like mind altering defeat
they prayed upon the hollow ground
upon the sacred few
that knew what was really going down
they came like smoke and arose
beasts gnawing at my feet
brain beaten hardened like gum
a feeling of numb became my fate
as the devils ate
they ate like hounds
then unaware I was kneeling down
one less beast became aware
of that erasing sound
kicking my brain with every pound
no more beasts because I'm free now

Bottom Fell Out
03:51
|
|||
wherein your gaze locked between mine
over the graves of all that time
we gave away like fools
and lost ourselves but tried to act cool
created between us a moat of lost time
a stream of dark nothing but oh so sublime
at the edge of tomorrow aside the hilltop
the precipice of danger running out on the clock
making the way to the water fountain
picking up the bucket to put under the sprout
filling up the bucket when I noticed
the pressure was too much
and took the bottom out
the bottom fell out
and all came rushing out
the bottom fell out
just when my world began
the bottom fell out

Face Like The Sun
03:43
|
|||
walking blind he walked the same girl home
from work every day it came by them without an okay
big bright mug upon a tall mixed frame
scars on all sides from cheek to cheek he sighs billowing
smoke across the waters pure
bright eyes and a vibe so sure
running down his cheeks were his tears none
and with a face like the sun
he cheered us on to the other side
as he walked blind across the waters pure
we were so sure it was him and he was he
but what were we
in time alone
we gotta know
how we can be
so sure we know
just what we know
just what we know
when we are done
face like the sun

Lie To Rest
04:25
|
|||
go to sleep now
you won't have to see the morn
lie to rest my sweet thing now
in time they will mourn
lying here on the couch
they bitch about some little show
I don't wanna know about
and when I can't even hear
they start telling lies and beware
the deceitful steps it takes to rid
yourself of them that keep me awake
for Christ's sake when the owl howls
you will lie and lie again
from every angle it will come out
so fall asleep
lie to rest my sweet thing now
in time they will mourn
just how far they've let themselves down
go to sleep now
you won't have to see the storm
lie to rest my sweet thing now
in time you will see the morn

Rejuvenile
03:13
|
|||
going up, going down
where does it lead
I'm lost in this town
rejuvenate me
and forget my place
in this space of which
I know nothing about
rejuvenate me
my body heart and soul
intoxicate me
remind me of my real goals
oh who's above me
oh whose below
separate the fixers
and the highs from the lows
rejuvenate me
make me one and whole
rebuild inside me
a much better foe
in hard times I stumble
in the much much again
rejuvenate my muscle
so I can walk again
in neglect I crumble
with time not in hand
rejuvenate my being
rework your helping hand

Desperate Saint
04:40
|
|||
hey, he's a desperate saint
he's a law abiding minute man
who cannot be blamed
he got a title, up from under a grave
he walks beside 'em all the time and remembers his fate
he eats a chewed up shoe because that's what you do
when you're entitled and a child, and got nothing to do
you get the same thing twice and that's okay
never doing nothing and got nothing to pay
he says the same thing twice but what can you say
in the same way begging at your leg every day
it's okay that you cry, but not all the time
so tell me goodbye with that glazed look in your eye
hey, he's a desperate saint
he gotta little something extra that he might have to say
he walks a narrow grove home, it's always the same
talking to the TV when there's no one around
walking through the movie, but there ain't no sound
he's always preaching what he's meaning on the concrete ground
living like he outta with the dogs and the hounds
he goes deeper down the hole inside the yellow wall
thrown against the wall sometimes in spite of it all
he drops the ball again but no one cares
he does the same thing twice then rips up the spares
he got nothing to give and nothing to prove
just beating along by the same old groove
he just walks and wiggles and everybody stares
he moves on over with a desperate flair
hey, he's a desperate saint
he got that big ass chicken leg in the back of his mind
he rings the same bell twice for the second damn time
hey, he's a desperate saint
he never stumbles, but he mumbles from the side of his face
hey, he's just a desperate saint
mighty desperate saint
he does some good, but he should step aside in it's wake
it's understood
that the burden of proof
is beyond what your calling for
it ain't the truth
he's not to blame
but he would and he could
change the game
in his name
it would cost him the goods
and start again
from that starting place
where his preaching got a-teaching
because his mind was erased
hey, he's a desperate saint
the tao of living now is his mantra again
at your shoes so confused by the hatred and pain
hey, he's a desperate saint
it's not the player just the game, so take me away
he wrecked it all but installed a meaning to fame
hey, he's a desperate saint
doing good like he should, with no one to blame
if he could, but he would start naming names
cheers to a desperate saint
going up, going down
is it something you say
hey, he's a desperate saint
I don't know but I wonder
if it's something you ate
he's a desperate saint
walking tall with nothing at all
he begs everyday
he walks the same old way
he says the same old phrase
hey, he's a desperate saint
he begs us everyday
is it something you say
hey, he's just a desperate saint

Unconditionally
02:35
|
|||
unconditionally I'm yours
singing sweet songs in the morn
unconditionally I'm torn
between your kindness or your warm tender smile
unconditionally you sweet thing
unconditionally repeating
unconditionally retreating
unmistakably beating the odds
unconditionally it's known
what all the textures have shown
unconditionally it's true
I'm trying my best to get to you
unconditionally I'm yours
singing sweet songs in the morn
unconditionally I'm torn
between your kindness or your warm tender smile
unconditionally it's known
what all the textures have shown
unconditionally it's true
I'm trying my best to get to you

Crooked
03:29
|
|||
the room filled with shadows in upon he walked in
the crooked man with a crooked smile a crooked tie and I
felt so ashamed I gave away his name
crooked with a guise he smiles yet again
making his way to the cupboard for another loaf of old bread
crooked with his walk he waltzes over to me with a sway softly
moving with repeatable inconsistencies and crooked style
he's a crooked guy a little shy at times, but he's alright, yeah
crooked with a little bit of vile he smiles again
crooked lighting gleams off his crooked chin
and his bones are shaped like crooked lightning bolts
yeah, he got it from his crooked folks
crooked with a grin he says how about we do that thing
crookedly I say back to him why not
and the room filled with crooked shadows
as the crooked light fixtures faded
into a bent up vacuum of a room
crooked in the groove his legs moved in the air
zig zag shag rug underneath his toes
and flowing crooked hair
crooked shuffle the man spoke
I'm here
in a crooked breathe
I'm awoke
crookedly we danced together
and unveiled the cloak
with a crooked feather he wrote
I'm broke

My Heavy
02:55
|
|||
sometimes the weight is just too great
can't keep myself above the curb
but perturbed my strength is just too weak for me
it's just my heavy
my heavy
my heavy head
like atlas I feel the burn
sometimes you gotta wonder
what makes the world turn
my heavy
my heavy
my heavy head
got me down
so down
my heavy
day by day the weight gains
it burns when worlds turn
and hearts collide
a broken levy just opens
my heavy
my heavy
my heavy
my oh so heavy head

Anamorphic
02:39
|
|||
growth, is it good or bad or ugly
no hope, terror stems from what's within
and I'm lonely
cope, thats what they say then walk away
when things are funny
I walk alone
but bones are bones
so let's begin
to anamorph
from what was old
to what's behold
to something new
to body grew
into something true
growth, in what was told
anamorph in from the cold
I grow alone
I walk alone
but bones are bones
so let's begin
to anamorph
in from the cold
I grow alone

I remember when I sat with you
under a chilly summer sun
waiting for the moment that the early sun
would come up and greet us with it's morning glaze
it was hazy as we treaded the lonely streets at dawn
it was glistening fun while laughing
as the music stopped and the dream began to fade
and I remember when I sat with you
and we talked about how we felt and what we knew
such fun smashing the mirror
into tiny tiny bits
distorted faces on a desolate train
going nowhere from the same place again
it was raining and I bet you felt it, too
we were fools back then
did many winters send us
back up to where our trip began
there's safety in numbers where did you go
so many blunders no where to go
what secrets there still to know
as it rings around again in the cyclic nature of truth
I find myself again in the loop of missing you
and I remember us
that was then this is now
it will never be the same
not here not now
when the sun came up and the fog was thick
lounging on the ground in the park near central square
loving every moment and never living a care
as the sun dog came upon us
so did the deeds at large
over the foggy morning
after my mind was stretched and bruised
we evaporate the present
leaving only something new
when every sounding moment
that makes the gap enlarge
the memory of that moment
forever in my heart
